Ceramic coatings

Aluminium oxide Al₂O₃, titanium oxide TiO2 and chromium oxide Cr₂O₃ are particularly suitable for wear protection. Zirconium oxide ZrO₂ is very good for improving thermal resistance.
Aluminium oxide Al₂O₃ can also be used for improving electrical insulation.

Metallic coatings

Practically all metals and various alloys can be treated.

Carbide coatings

Tungsten carbide and chromium carbide, mixtures of these and other alloying elements
